Post-COP25 Hong Kong Forum 2020

Institute for the Environment (IENV) and the Division of Environment and Sustainability (ENVR), Business Environment Council and Civic Exchange co-organized the Post-COP25 Hong Kong Forum on 17 January 2020. Gathering over a hundred of environmental and business leaders, the event reviewed the state of the UN negotiations, and discussed what business actions are needed in decarbonizing Hong Kong.

ENVR Field Trip to Jeju Island 2020

4 students of BSc in Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT) and 22 students from MSc in Environmental Science and Management Program, led by Prof. Arthur LAU, visited Jeju Island in South Korea from 5 – 10 January 2020 to discover the local environmental issues, learn about the research initiatives in energy and ocean, also explore the three crowned (UNESCO Geopark, World Heritage and New Seven Wonders of Nature) islands.

ENVR Winter Camp 2020: Hong Kong’s Ecological Value and Biodiversity

Division of Environment (ENVR) has held winter camp annually since 2013 for students to understand more about environmental issues with first-hand experience from a lively perspective. This year, “Winter Camp 2020: Hong Kong’s Ecological Value and Biodiversity” offered students a chance to understand local biodiversity and the threats they face, and to explore possible solutions to conserve local ecology from different angles through a few visits and workshops from 2 to 4 January 2019.
