Risk Perception of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Indian Construction Industry

Prof. Kira MATUS, Associate Professor of Division of Public Policy (PPOL) shared her research insights in a two-day workshop “Risk Perception of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Indian Construction Industry” on 14-15 November 2019. It is believed that with the development of AI-based technologies, the construction industry can improve the efficiency of their activities, including adopting cutting edge technologies to ensure faster delivery and a safe working environment.

Prospective Longevity: A New Vision of Population Aging

Division of Public Policy (PPOL) organized a seminar on “Prospective Longevity: A New Vision of Population Aging” on 10 October 2019. Prof. Sergei SCHERBOV, Deputy Program Director of the World Population Program (POP) at International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) shared the concept of “prospective age”, a forward-thinking measure of our remaining lifespan. The study helps to generate better demographic estimates, which inform better policies.

Closed Loops, the Circular Economy, Nudges and the Innovative University

The seminar “Closed Loops, the Circular Economy, Nudges and the Innovative University” organized by Division of Public Policy (PPOL) was held on 21 October 2019. Prof. Scott VALENTINE, Professor and Associate Dean of Sustainability and Urban Planning, RMIT University introduced three tools for enhancing productivity: systems redesign, closed loop planning and nudges. He also shared his insight on strategic management, especially about how universities can elevate productivity and profitability through applied practice.
