Simple technology to make BIG difference in healthcare problems in the developing world

Student Innovation for Global Health Technology, hosted by the Division of Biomedical Engineering, led by Prof. Ying CHAU, mobilizes students from different disciplines to apply their knowledge in transforming innovative ideas into tangible solutions to tackle healthcare problems of poor communities. It held a press conference on 31 August 2015 to show their fruitful trips to Cambodia with two new inventions: portable drug dispensary box and electronic medical system, which helped improve the efficiency and quality of the healthcare service in the slums.

Jeff CHEN, a graduate of T&M-DDP, has raised over HK$6 million for his startup Lumos with the next generation bicycle helmet in just one month

Jeff CHEN, a graduate of Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP), has raised over HK$6 million through crowdfunding online with a brand new design of bicycle helmet in just one month. Jeff met his partner during overseas study at Harvard University in 2013 and they have worked together for two years to develop the bicycle helmet. The real product is targeted to be available in April next year.

Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Cooperation between The Division of Biomedical Engineering (BME) and Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC)

Prof. I-ming Hsing, Head of The Division of Biomedical Engineering (BME), and Prof. Rui-hua XU, President of Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC), signed a memorandum of cooperation aiming at establishing a long-term partnership on clinical and medical research cooperation, exchange of students and researchers, co-organization of academic conferences and other activities.
