Israel- Hong Kong: Women-to-Women Bridge

Four students in Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP) were invited to attend the forum “Israel- Hong Kong: Women-to-Women Bridge” on May 31, 2019. The event was jointly organized by The Consulate General of Israel in Hong Kong and Asia Society Hong Kong Center. Three panel discussions on innovation & technology, medical sciences and finance & economy served as a platform to connect generations of women and men from Israel and Hong Kong to celebrate, and be inspired and empowered by females, and to further enhance the economic, educational and cultural ties between Israel and Hong Kong.

HKUST New App (PRAISE-HK) Uses Street-Level Air Quality Data to Reduce Personal Exposure and Health Risk

HKUST Institute for the Environment today launched a new mobile app that aims to help users reduce their exposure to outdoor air pollution. PRAISE-HK stands for “Personalized Real-time Air-quality Informatics System for Exposure – Hong Kong” and will help build Hong Kong into a world-class smart and healthy city.

Two students of Environmental Science, Policy and Management Program (ESPM) won the first prize of the IPO Best Research Award 2018/19 which recognizes the outstanding achievements of research students and fosters the overall quality of research education in the University.

IPO Supports Elder Academy Scheme 2019

HKUST participated in the Elder Academy Scheme jointly launched by the Labour and Welfare Bureau (LWB) and the Elderly Commission (EC) in Spring 2018-19. Division of Environment and Sustainability (ENVR) supported the scheme by offering the course SUST1000 - Introduction to Sustainability and received positive feedback from the senior students, Ms. Windy LEE and Mr. Julius CHOI.
