ENVR Field Trip to Germany 2019

9 students of BSc in Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT) and 13 students from MSc / PGD in Environmental Science and Management Program, led by Dr. Meike SAUERWEIN, visited Germany from 5 – 12 January 2019 to understand the environmental challenges faced by Germany and how German Government and non-governmental sectors tackle the issues.

Mr. Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, Secretary for the Environment, visited the lab of Institute for the Environment and had an in-depth discussion with Prof. Zhi Ning on his latest cutting-edge innovation – a world leading air sensing technology with Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for high Sulphur fuel screening and ship emission measurement.

T&M-DDP 15th Anniversary Dinner

2018 is the 15th Anniversary of Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP). To celebrate this important milestone, T&M-DDP organized a gala dinner on 9 November 2018 and gathered around 200 alumni, industry partners, faculty, current students and staff to rejoice at the anniversary.

ZERO WASTE! ENVR Winter Camp 2019

Division of Environment (ENVR) has held winter camp annually since 2013 for students to understand more about environmental issues with first-hand experience from a lively perspective. This year, “ZERO WASTE” ENVR Winter Camp offered students a chance to explore the local conservation and recycling actions from different angles through a few visits and a forum from 2 to 4 January 2019.

Environmental Protection Department Will Deploy New Sensor Developed by Institute for the Environment to Monitor Vessel Emissions

The Institute for the Environment (IENV) conducted a research funded by The Environmental Protection Department(EPD) to develop a new senor system for real-time measurement of vessel emissions to help the enforcement of the tightened Air Pollution Control (Fuel for Vessels) Regulation that mandates all vessels within Hong Kong waters to use compliant fuels with a sulphur content less than 0.5%.

“Growth Hacking for Gillette” – Corporate Project Sponsored by Proctor & Gamble Hong Kong Household Brands Executive

With the support from Proctor & Gamble Hong Kong Household Brands executive, 2018 Fall term’s corporate-sponsored project challenged student-consultants to grow Gillette business in Hong Kong, under the backdrop of 3-years of revenue decline. This is a real challenge faced by many global brands, like Gillette, which have enjoyed global domination for decades. The project was designed to use experiential learning for students to solve complex real-world problems like managing a multi-million-dollar consumer brand through strategic and tactical planning, and executive communication.
